I had reserved a table for two at the Colonel Fort Jaco for Wednesday 28th August for 7 PM. Definitely, Not recommended. The overall experience was bad enough that I would not repeat it. Overall, it's more of a local brasserie type of place frequented by the locals, not a real good steakhouse of the type that their city branch Colonel at Louise is. The service is well below standards and the whole attitude of the staff and team is unwelcoming, unfriendly and unacceptable. 1. The restaurant staff are unwelcoming and unfriendly. We arrived at 6h45 and were dropped off at the outdoor seating entrance, where a waiter made a fuss that we should go the front entrance, where the manager rudely insisted that he could not let us in till 7 PM and we should just wait outside. It was left to his waiter colleague to suggest we can go to a bar around the corner. 2. When we returned and were been allocated seats, he would not let us be seated at on of the corner seats claiming that the restaurant is fully booked and he need the corner seats for tables of 4 and above. He also would not allow us to seat on the right hand-side of the restaurant claiming that that section was closed. However about an hour later in the evening, he had people of groups of two seating in the corner as well as groups of two seated in the so-called 'closed-section' 3. The menu did not have any sides, which is peculiar for a steakhouse 4. The wagyu beef burger I ordered was a bit dry and not worth the price 5. My friend was served a terrible wine that they did not offer to change with another. BTW, the wines by the glass are Not listed on the menu is contradiction to Belgian Horeca rules and only verbally expressed without the price. Definitely, Not recommended.
