The Café de la Lanterne aims to restore the character of the old tavern in the center of Genappe, which opened in 1917. Nearly a century later, the charm and beauty of the place are completely brought up to date. Carefully and delicately furnished by Maxence Van Crombrugge, the establishment reveals today a hushed atmosphere, both jazzy, soft and modern. The menu honors the spirit of a bistro-resto while giving pride of place to local producers. As for the beers, the amateurs will have what to satisfy their pleasure. The establishment offers a large choice renewed regularly. All the ingredients are gathered to spend a pleasant moment in an intimate and friendly atmosphere. Nous avions réservé une table pour 4 personnes....

Nous avions réservé une table pour 4 personnes. En arrivant environ 25 minutes en avance, on nous a clairement demandé d’aller nous promener et de ne pas revenir avant l’heure exacte, alors qu’une terrasse totalement vide à l’étage aurait pu nous accueillir. À notre retour, on nous a encore fait comprendre que trouver une table pour 4 posait problème… Ce type d’accueil est franchement anti-commercial et laisse une mauvaise première impression. Heureusement, la serveuse qui a ensuite pris le relais a été d’une grande attention et a trouvé une solution en nous installant provisoirement en terrasse. Grâce à elle, le reste de la soirée s’est très bien passé. »

Comme toujours, accueil chaleureux, belle carte avec plats délicieux. Nous en avons déjà goûté plusieurs et à chaque fois c’est un régal. Vivement notre prochain passage ;-)
