La Différence. The "difference" in the heart of the Flemish Ardennes. The modest facade conceals an atmospheric art-deco restaurant inspired by Parisian bistro fashion. Under a majestic dome of glass and lead, you can enjoy culinary delights of no-nonsense cuisine at digestible prices to atmospheric lounge music. The menu is composed of classics from Belgian cuisine as well as world dishes with their own touch. Every month there is also a flirtation with flavorful and inventive suggestions. The taste of the basic product remains paramount and only daily fresh seasonal ingredients are used. The varied repertoire on the wine list includes gems from around the world. Chef Ward Messiaen learned the trade in various great houses: he completed his training in '96 at hotelschool ter Duinen after which he was apprenticed to the best chefs of the moment: 't Convent, 't Oud Konijntje, Alta Ripa and Alain Ducasse (France). This is how he slowly worked his way up to his own restaurant La Différence. La Différence, a fixture in the culinary field....
