Welcome to the Elfde Gebod! The Eleventh Commandment (Het Elfde Gebod) is a unique restaurant-café in the old town of Antwerp, Belgium. It has a spectacular interior decked with angels, saints, pulpits and several deliciously sacrilegious visual jokes. We serve local Belgian cuisine and a big variety of famous beers. Beers include the local Koninck, Trappiste Westmalle dubbel, St. Bernardus Abt 12 and much more. The restaurant-café is located next to the The famous Cathedral of our Lady (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal). The ancient religious statues are in style with the Kathedral right across the street and the place has a long history. It is a must-see place when visiting Antwerp and it is mentioned in many tourist guides. It is the place everyone remembers form Antwerp. "The Eleventh Commandment" – this is to eat well, drink a lot of tasty beer and have lots of fun. So in general: YOU SHALL ENJOY!

Allein schon das Ambiente ist einzigartig: gefühlt hunderte von Madonnen und anderer Statuen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker.n der Service ist zügig und nett. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder und können das Restaurant nur empfehlen.

Un endroit atypique et à voir absolument. Nous...

Un endroit atypique et à voir absolument. Nous y avons réservé une table ce 4 mai en soirée, fort heureusement car la file d'attente peut s'avérer longue...Des décors baroques dans un cadre historique (au pied de la cathédrale Notre Dame) vous laissent des souvenirs impérissables, l'ambiance musicale n'y étant pas étrangère si ce n'est au volume sonore qui s'en dégage. Nous avons opté pour des dos de cabillaud reposant sur une purée parfumée à l'aneth, un régal tant bien même si le coût, disons que le rapport qualité-prix est assuré. Une note toute particulière au personnel assurant le service à l'étage où nous étions, serviabilité et gentillesse malgré la barrière linguistique. Alors pour parfaire votre séjour anversois, rien de tel que de découvrir ce lieu de convivialité, où vous vous interrogerez sur le 11ème. Commandement.... Maurice et Nicole de France

Wij hadden er veel zin in zijn een paar dagen...

Wij hadden er veel zin in zijn een paar dagen in Antwerpen geweest en hadden onze keus op dit restaurant laten vallen. De kaart ziet er goed uit. Na de reservering online lazen wij dat we binnen twee uur klaar moesten zijn wat overigens op de site vanaf vrijdag vermeld staat Wij wilden op donderdag. Liefst 18.00 of 18.30, maar het kon alleen om 17.00 uur. Maar om dan om 1900 uur weer buiten te staan NEE Aangezien het niet goedkoop is daalde ons enthousiasme en hebben meteen geannuleerd,waarna we toch nog twee een herinnering kregen. Jammer wij houden niet van tijdsdruk als we lekker weg zijn.
