No, this is not a new star. And no, this is not Eau Vive. Pierre Résimont, the emblematic chef, wants to make it clear right away. The goal here is not to create star gastronomy. On the contrary. The place is accessible, warm and friendly. The cuisine must be just as friendly. So the menu will remain "a family brasserie prepared with care." But with the added rigor and consistency. To achieve this, the duo Pierre Résimont and Jean-François Beguin have spared no expense. In the kitchen, if the base of the team remains unchanged, it is a new chef who takes charge. Anything but a stranger to Pierre and Jean-François, Jonas Tasseroul was trained for several years at the Comptoir de l'Eau Vive before opening the "Terrasses de l'Ecluse" in Jambes in the kitchen that Jean-François Beguin entrusted to him at the time. It was therefore only natural for him to "move" to Gembloux to ensure the continuity of the "Terrasses" brasserie kitchen, which was already well established, and to color it, or rather refine it, with the "Pierre Résimont" accents. To support him, the two-star chef will visit the restaurant regularly, but he will also send one of his loyal lieutenants every week, Corentin Lonnoy, who has been working in the kitchen of Comptoir de l'Eau vive for almost 5 years. On the plate, the choice is not as wide as it used to be, but you can still enjoy it, alone or in company. Some dishes and desserts are even available in "shareable" form. And although the number of starters and main courses has been deliberately limited to allow for a more refined selection, a 3- and 4-course menu (39 or 49 euros) and a 2- and 3-course lunch (25 or 30 euros) are now available. All of this is based on affordable gourmet dining and sharing between foodies. From Linguine with shellfish or Fish and Chips with Tartar sauce to solettes meunières with Résimont puree or other dumplings with tomato sauce, the choice is still more than ample. And the dessert and deli menu also has a few surprises up its sleeve. Finally, the wine and beer menu has been expanded to maximize the pleasure.

Tout était excellent. Des cocktails et mocktails en passant par les plats, bar et daurade parfaits, pour terminer par les desserts dont un café gourmand très gourmand. Sans oublier l’accueil et le professionnalisme des membres du personnel ainsi que leur bonne humeur. Nous reviendrons, c’est certain.
