About this restaurant
The Hooghuis, opposite the Town Hall of Hasselt, owes its name to its place of establishment. The characteristic Mansion is built on the highest point of the city of Limburg. Either: there is no place in the Gin city to find that further above sea level. At the end of the nineteenth century opened the family Walker-Hox here a restaurant, which in 1919 to restaurant annex hotel is rebuilt. Two ran the family for generations, Denis ' (over) maternal grandparents, The Hooghuis itself out. Halfway through the last century the family rented The Hooghuis to third parties. There followed a period with different owners and different forms. So it was for several years a famous and thriving Hooghuis youth café under the name the Teeny. In 1976 took Denis ' father Hugo De Freine command of the game.
