Welcome to "La Brasserie du Lac" DIP YOUR FEET IN THE WATER... ALMOST! The 'Brasserie du Lac' nestles along the edge of Genval Lake, one of the obligatory sites to take in when visiting the Walloon, or French-speaking, part of Brabant. It is a magical place for those of you who love nature and walking, but also enjoy a fine culinary experience. The restaurant's large conservatory windows offer a splendid and unique view across the lake. Its heated, wind-protected terrace opposite the Oyster Bar means that walkers can sit comfortably and pleasantly till late on in the season… Even in winter, it is perfectly possible to sit out and enjoy a clear blue sky, or star-gaze after dark, because we provide blankets, if needed! Access to this absolutely idyllic and charming place is easy and there is plenty of parking space too. Whether you enjoy a fast lunch formula at €17, or a more extended à la carte meal, Chef Michel Grenier proposes a range of varied Brasserie dishes depending on the season. His 3-course menu at €37 (with a choice of 3 starters, 2 main courses and 2 desserts) will surely not fail to please. Outside the restaurant, at the Oyster Bar, you can select your own seafood (oysters and shellfish). Seafood dishes and any other dishes are also available for take away too, if you prefer your own surroundings, rather than those of the restaurant. Between 14.30 and 18.00 each afternoon, enjoy the tea-room service with its wonderful homemade desserts and ice-cream, pancakes and Brussels waffles. If you have more of a 'salty tooth' perhaps you will be more tempted by our tomato with shrimps, a Croque-Monsieur, steak tartare… in short, the choice is entirely yours. Je ne suis pas satisfait de la qualité de la...

Je ne suis pas satisfait de la qualité de la réservation. J’avais demandé une table proche de l’eau par une réservation via mail le matin même. Je me suis retrouvé en retrait de 10m et on m’a répondu « premier arrivé premier servi » ! A quoi cela sert-il de réserver ?

J'avais réservé via le site pour 20h, en précis...

J'avais réservé via le site pour 20h, en précisant deux demandes importantes : être placés en bord de lac, et faire apporter une bougie au moment du dessert pour une surprise d'anniversaire à mon compagnon. Malheureusement, aucune des deux demandes n'a été respectée, et nous n'avons reçu aucune information préalable pour nous prévenir que cela ne serait pas possible. Résultat : un moment qui aurait dû être spécial a été gâché, sans aucune attention particulière de la part de l'établissement. C’est vraiment dommage, car nous avions choisi ce lieu pour vivre une belle expérience.

Le service n’est pas spécialement agréable, on a du réclamer plusieurs fois (frites supplémentaires, café gourmand sans café). On demande conseil sur le vin mais on nous demande de plutôt consulter la carte….
