Welcome to 't Brigandje Restaurant 't Brigandje has been a fixture for lovers of grilling and other specialties since 1986. Many customers who have been there since Tex and Ria started, are still regulars in our restaurant. After Tex and Ria, Mirko and Nathalka were there to continue the traditions. We too, Veerle (hostess), Michiel (host/grill), and our children Mette-Marit and Mattijn, want to ensure that 't Brigandje is and remains a "home" for the many loyal customers who come to 't Brigandje for the (h)honest cuisine, the conviviality and the unique character of our square farm. Of course, as true-blooded Maldegem and Kleiten people, we also hope to welcome many familiar faces from the neighbourhood to (re)discover 't Brigandje. The familiar concept: delicious meat and fish dishes and certainly our large ribs on the grill, some dishes from the kitchen, a nice beer or wine to go with it and the famous Irish Coffees or desserts to finish, that remains! Furthermore, we are proud of our team! Our permanent staff Ulriche and Dany but also the many other enthusiastic waiters and kitchen staff ensure that you are always at your beck and call. We always strive for excellent service and proper cooking times. Our restaurant should also be or become a popular place for children. Therefore, from now on we will provide a kids menu and an expanded selection of children's dishes. In addition to the fixed menu, we would like to respond to the seasons and also use regional products. Usually this will be in the form of suggestions. For smokers, we will eventually provide a heated corner in our courtyard. And by the summer our front terrace will also be renewed. With the exception of some dishes, everything is prepared on our wood grill. In the weekend there is a 2nd grill used outside. These grills have a maximum capacity. In order to guarantee the quality of the dishes and your chosen method of cooking and/or seasoning, we count on you to understand that there may sometimes be a wait. While waiting you can enjoy an aperitif, one of our gin tonics, a glass of fine wine or a beer. For larger groups, if you book in advance, our annexe room/bar can be used to host private parties. We also provide menus and reception formulas that can be modified according to your wishes/budget. For this, it is best to make an appointment where we can discuss the possibilities together. Some of our dishes can also be collected at take away prices. Ask our waiters about it. We hope that your visit to our restaurant will be a moment of culinary delight and we are very curious about your experience. Tja, waarmee moet ik starten? Bij het binnenkomen viel het op dat de muziek veel te luid stond. Christina Aguilera keelde door de boxen. Nee, daar zaten we niet op te wachten. De muziek die volgde was beter maar véél te luid. Mijn man en ik hebben beiden een drukke job en we steken graag regelmatig onze voeten onder tafel, maar dan willen we graag rust. In een restaurant als 't Brigandje zou ik rustige pianomuziek op de achtergrond laten spelen en geen zelfgekozen Spotify-lijst die veel te luid door de boxen klinkt. Het eten op zich was goed maar niet top. Mijn man zijn filet pur was perfect, ook de pepersaus. De frieten echter waren veel te dik en te slap. Mijn ribbetjes waren veel te dun, te zout en er was weinig vlees aan. En ik miste de sausjes van 25 jaar geleden; die zijn helemaal anders nu. Jammer. De bediening echter was top, heel vriendelijk, snelle service, kortom, we zijn goed bediend. We mochten het stuk rib dat ik niet op kreeg meenemen naar huis. Dit heb ik aan mijn vader gegeven en zijn reactie afgewacht: zijn reactie was idem, veel te zout, veel te plat, weinig vlees aan. MIjn vader - een kenner - zei dat het stuk slecht uitgebeend was waardoor de ribben veel te plat waren. Helaas, we gaan nog een hele tijd wachten eer we terugkeren naar daar.
